IRONFEST PARADE makes a grand return.
SATURDAY 18th @ 3pm sharp
All the IRONFEST clans are graciously invited to participate where man power and numbers permit
The order of the PARADE will be:–
- Lithgow Highland Pipe Band
- Ironfest Banner bearers
- The Mythika Horse
- The Romans. Firstly the 6th Legion followed by the 9th Legion.
- The Medieval groups
- The Napoleonic Army
- Aust Re-enact, Lithgow Living History
- The Dancers
- John Kitchen Cycles
- Cosplayers, Steampunk and Costumed folk
- Fernhill Australia Arms / Lighthorse / Unicorns/ maidens.
Marshalling will be from 2.30pm near the participants main gate.
At around 2.30, a Town Crier will do a walk through the Great Hall, summoning the Ironfest folk to join the parade.
The Crier will walk through the hall out the back through the market stall area, where he will meet up with the Lithgow Highland Pipe Band who will then begin the march along the back, leading the Ironfesters up to the marshalling area….. think Pied Piper of Hamelin.
There, the band will await the mustering of the clans before once again raising their pipes to lead the parade through the front of the Foundations site, past the Great Hall, through the gate to the common, where the parade will circle around to go back the way they came, finishing in the courtyard area near the Zig Zag Brewery.
The horses can continue back to the marshalling area to go around the back to their area.
The Grand Parade is for anyone who wishes to participate.
NO MOTORISED VEHICLES TO PARTICIPATE due to anticipated heavy pedestrian activity.
